Although Duxford has parallel runways they are not available for simultaneous use and are to be treated as one runway.
The aerodrome is only open to visitors during specified hours. Traffic operating outside the published opening times is private and Duxford based.
The following inbound routes avoid infringements of Controlled Airspace around Stansted:
inbounds from the south to pass west of Stansted: Route LAM - BPK - Royston - Duxford AD;
inbounds from the south to pass east of Stansted: Route Chelmsford VRP - Halstead - Haverhill VRP - Duxford AD;
inbounds from the east: Route CLN VOR - Haverhill VRP - Duxford AD;
inbounds from the north for Runway 06: Route via Sawston to join downwind;
inbounds from the north for Runway 24: Route via Royston to join downwind.
Circuit Height 1000ft QFE.
There are no overhead, deadside or crosswind joins at Duxford to assist in deconfliction of circuit patterns.
Circuit patterns are variable with no dead-side. It is therefore essential that pilots obtain a briefing from Duxford before departure whether inbound or outbound.
Traffic departing Runway 06 continue straight ahead for 2 NM before turning (BP Roundabout). Traffic joining for Runway 24 LHC; join downwind and position for 2 NM final (BP Roundabout). Traffic joining for RWY 06 RHC join downwind. Traffic departing RWY 24 LHC no right turn until passed Royston.

Pilots of aircraft who are required to use a licensed aerodrome are cautioned that the taxiway strips are not suitable for use by aircraft whose wingspan exceeds 40 M. Other aircraft should use the taxiways with extreme caution due to the reduced obstacle clearance.
Fighter and high performance aircraft regularly carry out non-standard manoeuvres and use NATO style joining procedures. Visiting pilots must call in plenty of time before entering ATZ.
Pilots should not overfly the gas venting station southeast of the aerodrome below 2700 FT.
When operating to the North of Duxford outside of the Duxford ATZ, it is strongly advised that communication is established with Cambridge APP 120.965 MHz and note the Cambridge 23/05 Instrument Final Approach.
