Virtual Aero Clubs (VACs) is not a virtual airline but a community-based flying club dedicated to helping pilots improve their VFR (Visual Flight Rules) flying skills.
How VAC Began
The concept for VAC was born in early 2022 when I, Paul (IVAO ID: 122038), returned to flight simulation and the IVAO network. I noticed a lack of VFR traffic, as well as a lack of confidence in many pilots when it came to flying under VFR conditions. Many expressed uncertainty about various aspects of VFR flying, which discouraged them from trying or fully embracing it.
Motivated to address this issue, I joined the XU staff team as a Training Advisor (TA) on IVAO. Although my time in this role didn’t solve the issue of VFR flying directly, I learned a great deal over the 12 months I served. In January 2024, after exactly one year in the TA role, I resigned to start the Virtual Aero Club (VAC).
What VAC Offers
As the founder and manager of VAC, I aim to create a welcoming environment where members feel encouraged to participate and contribute. Although I oversee the club, members are always invited to get involved by creating tours, organizing events, or even developing training courses. If there’s something we don’t offer that you believe would benefit others, we want to hear from you.
Weekly Group Flights and Training Opportunities
VACs hosts weekly group flight events—held every Saturday at 1800Z. We also offer a variety of tours that allow you to earn ribbons as you complete them.
In addition to flying, we provide ATC training for AGCS (Aerodrome Ground Control Service) and AFIS (Aerodrome Flight Information Service), as well as pilot training for PPL (Private Pilot License) and SPP (Student Pilot Permit). Our pilot training programs are designed to help you work toward earning IVAO pilot ratings.
Join VAC
Membership in VAC is completely free and will always remain free. We welcome anyone eager to learn and fly with us. To join, simply register using the “Join VAC” link in the menu.
