EVENT NEWS

The biggest update this week is that our group flights will now take place on Saturdays at the same time. We’ll start planning from 1730Z, with takeoff at 1800Z. This week, we’ll be flying from Bournemouth (EGHH) to Blackbushe (EGLK)—come join us for a fun flight!

Looking Ahead

You may have noticed that recruitment has been a bit slow, and activity is starting to dip. I anticipated this, and I take full responsibility for not focusing enough on recruitment earlier.

To improve our recruitment efforts, I’ll be collaborating with the XU Flight Operations team to better promote our club within their Discord community. While this may attract some newcomers who want to jump straight into ATC roles, we’re aware that XU prefers to take its time training people. As a result, the service quality might vary at first, but rest assured, we’ll do our best to guide everyone kindly and helpfully.

Starting this week, I’ll also be streaming a few flights each week to help spread the word and recruit new members. I’m limited to daytime streaming, but I’m hoping this effort will help raise our profile. I’ll also be streaming our group flights! While I’m not a huge fan of Twitch at the moment, I’ll be focusing on YouTube for now.

If you can, please take a moment to subscribe to our channel: Virtual Aero Clubs YouTube. Every subscriber counts, and it helps us grow!

I truly believe that together, we can keep pushing VACs forward into 2025 and beyond!

VFR DIY Tours

Stuck on where to fly next? Whether you’re solo or flying with a friend, the VFR DIY Tour is here to help! Head over to the Tours section and discover a wide range of exciting options.

Right now, the tour features every UK airport with runways between 1,000 to 8,000 feet, giving you a huge selection of airports to explore. But that’s just the beginning—soon, we’re expanding the tour to include mainland Europe, opening up even more incredible destinations!

Once you have completed 50 Legs you can Submit a Ticket for the VFR tour 50 Badge. You can also include any VFR flights you do and submit a PIREP for all VFR flights even the group flights. (fshub required)
