9th Sept 2024 News Letter

Staff

I am very pleased to announce that Olly – VAC02 and Myles – VAC07 have stepped up to the plate to help me keep improving things at VACs, Olly is now in charge of everything relating to tours. Myles is now responsible for planning events for the XU club. They both have my full confidence they will do great in the roles and you have my thanks for stepping forward to give some of your free time to VACs.

Current staff applications are closed as I do not believe at this time we need any extra help, you are always welcome to make suggestions for events and tours and give feedback on the community so we can improve.

Exam News

I am very pleased to announce that Moses – VAC99 has passed his IVAO PP exam, very well done sir. I never had any doubts and massive congratulations.

Events

The events section now shows what club an event is for the example shows XU meaning the event is intended for XU members but everyone is welcome.

Tours

The tours department is pleased to announce the release of their new Business jet tour. Take in the sites of Europe whilst giving your clients a nice smooth flight. The tour is live now.

Website

Since opening VACs, i have been thinking about pilot profiles and trying to work out how i want to capture the information and also display it. I have decided not to reinvent the wheel and take advantage of what is already available. Awards and such are separate and when you fly a tour or are issued an award they will show on your pilot profile page as shown below.

I am currently working on importing data from fshub.io that will contain flight information and then using this information in the future I intend to have information such as total miles, average landing rate, fuel used, hours and much more this is still WIP.

Other Information

The next club will be XO, i do not expect current XU members to fly in XO events they will at times that suit that region if you want to fly you of course may but they will be early in the morning.

XU events are on Sundays at 1730Z, I have noticed that we have had poor attendance at the last few, if you are bored of flying the group flights, help us to improve and tell us why and what we can do to make you want to fly more.

Happy flying everyone.
